SLEEPWALKING 03:01
Out on the road again I don't know who is who I'm in an avalanche in alligator shoes another train to catch I wait around for you I'm having afterthoughts from someone else's blues I've been sleepwalking around with you and I know it's a lousy thing to do What a wonderful way to beat the blues and it really doesn't matter if you win to lose no more crying in my sleep for you I lie out on the beach the big waves rolling through I watch you bite your nails with nothing else to do I dream of limousines out on 5th avenue I see you on the street and wave goodbye to you
2.
There's no beginning; there'll be no end I know what's happening to you my friend I fall asleep then wake up again I so I so miss you All my life flashes backward then the lonely trail of discarded men I grab a ringside seat in the circus tent and you slip from view twilight's creeping around the bend the evening sings of you my friend from this lonely day 'til stars begin I so I so miss you help me out embrace me when the lightning fades and summer ends I walk across the street and look back again for you, for you.
3.
It's a time in your life you just can't figure out and you don't really know yet just what you're about so you're stuck in place you can scream you can shout twist yourself round and round like a kaleidoscope turning don't blink, you'll fall down 'cause you're stuck in place and you feel like you're out in some caravan on a wagon train headed no place there's a lesson to learn about anagrams and telegrams and signals from space there's a rain now a drought all the crazies are out grab your fork and your plate put the cake in your mouth don't get stuck in place throw a pitch catch a lie that's yourself flying by You might be standing alone Ya, at least you're alive don't get stuck in place They want you to get over it you just have to get over it you're supposed to get over it
4.
SO SMOOTH 03:00
I took a train the other day caught a glimpse of myself along the way it's this feeling in your bones when you're so alone you're so alone you've tried everything you can think to do and well nothing's worked but that's nothin' new it's the game that keeps you going when you're so alone, you're so alone well, haven't you heard, my friend? I've got this dream about how it ends it's so smooth I packed my bags I just had to escape well, I knew I'd be back, but just just couldn't wait It's a lesson we all know when you're so alone You're so alone
5.
Watch your step, watch your step Cause you can't feel right now but if you pass the test you'll be part of the winning crowd you can call it whatever you want but it's all the same and the man downstairs plays a waiting game place your bet, place your bet hey, they've got a sure thing now you could live to regret but you'll get along somehow you can call it whatever you want but it's all the same and the crowd downstairs plays a waiting game alls you do is lie in shame the awful truth could break this game you go crawling down upon your knees and break your heart at lightning speed take a breath, take a breath you can feel it now that's your heart in your chest I'm sure you'll get it going somehow Hey, you can call it whatever you want but it's all the same and the one you love plays a waiting game
6.
Thought you would remember me weren't you coming back? perhaps you took the long way home or had a heart attack walking in the room that day I saw you look the other way you were steering toward the sun What you doing on your feet? Why you out of bed? loneliness is wasted time come over here instead saw you looking out the door What you looking out there for? you were steering toward the sun why you look at me that way? there's no use looking back it's only you that's in your head there's no need to attack your loneliness is metaphor a fairytale you still explore you were steering toward the sun

(Speaking) I used to live in the lion's den My only way out, a grizzly end but then one day an extraordinary wind blew me into the land of wonder (singing) I went to sleep to dream to awaken the singing serpent in the tree a hand holds out the apple for me well I took every train in the state I went crashing through a million city gates It's a way to freedom for me you finally took a wrong turn you went out of control, and you spun riding the waves of passion 'til you come not to love is a fatal mistake we can forgive, then forget, then erase it never seems to happen for free you finally took a wrong turn you went out of control, and you spun riding the waves of passion 'til you come and once you get to know 'em you can throw 'em you can really show 'em you could be someone have your cake and eat it too

I can feel your touch in the afternoon as we were walking the park by the streets and the avenue the wind is singing out but it's a sad, sad tune 'cause you don't know what you want and I'm not sure what you're gonna do I feel you holding back I need a sign from you and we could both slip away maybe see what this can do I'll take you in my arms the way we used to do I'll take you back tonight if you want me to I thought all along this love was true but we could tear it to pieces and start with someone new but you call me and you call me I can see you smile it wipes away the gloom and though the rain brought the day the sun came around by noon my heart is singing out and yours is singing too and the refrain of the day is to thine own self be true

GIVE IT UP 03:25
You call yourself a little tragedy say it's the way it's always been you make a big mistake and then you excavate the little hole you're playing in I take a little time to investigate all of the places that we've been and right before my eyes you dematerialize out of the home you're never in you'd better give it up want you to give it up let go of your hold on me you'd better give it up want you to give it up hey, that's the last time for me now there's a favorite bet a lot of losers make when they're sure they're gonna win increase your appetite increase your stakes tonight and come up empty once again I take a little time to read between the lines before I sink much further in there, you apologize for telling all those lies and say you're coming home again
10.
CRAVING 03:34
Take it away, take it away I've got a craving I just can't shake don't you pressure me the air is choked with gravity I'm gonna rush you I'm gonna bring you to your knees what's the use in crying? No one's listening they fall down on their faces laughing while you scream you've become impossible to reach you've got a broken heart and vicious need turn out the lights and close the blinds and don't you ever ache sometimes? no more lust for me I place the armor carefully but it could shatter from the weight of "Pretty please?" what's the use in paying? I'll get mine for free I taste those bargain basement kisses on my knees
11.
Turn around so I can see your electric eyes connect to me it's a way in or a way out you can swallow it or spit it out Friday night, it is raining there's a suitcase on the bed you've got a little plan for a big escape but it can wait you and I could stay around you and I could break ground run away, don't run away catch a ride in the morning there no seats left on this train you come crawling in, with your ticket out it's a race, it's a race eight o'clock in the evening the sun sinks low behind the shades you see a little hope and a lot of pain but you can dream, you can dream
12.
CRAZY DAY 03:47
It's a crazy It's a crazy day it's alright if you find yourself falling for me any time I don't mind you can call in on me it's a natural phenomenon, I've heard them say you can try it out on me yourself, if you want to someday you may have a little fear of falling I can promise now you won't be sorry hit the lights close the blinds and now fall in with me come alive yes, we're alive as much as we ever will be as you wind on down and look around your busy day you can imagine that I'm here with you and we can play all the games that set us free hey, lose the tie you won't be sorry it's a crazy it's a crazy day
